Before signing a listing contract . . . Before signing a listing contract with any Realtor, make sure you know EXACTLY how your home will be marketed. There is a vast range in skills, experience, and services offered. A "Listing Presentation" is an industry term for the formal presentation that a Realtor makes to prospective home sellers, trying to earn their trust and business. It is most similar to a job interview. Don't list your home without it! Nora would love the opportunity to make such a presentation to you and interview for the job of marketing your home. Before Nora visits your home, she will do "homework" for you by researching your property and neighborhood on the Internet, finding comparable sales in the Multiple Listing Service, and preparing a presentation binder and printed marketing plan for you. When Nora visits your home, she will walk through it with you and consider the positives and negative (if any!). She will explain how she proposes to sell your home, where and how it will be advertised, and discuss how you want your home presented. Both print and Internet advertising are very important. Over 70% of all home buyers now begin their home search on the Internet. You must have a Realtor who can extensively market your home online. Multiple websites and photos are a must! Gone are the days when a Realtor could just stick a sign in the yard and wait for buyers to call. Marketing is extremely important. |
